Why YolSandals?
YolSandals are based on Zonal Reflexology. They are not a substitute for the expert hands of a therapist, but they do offer a simple means of self-stimulation. The design of the inner sole stimulates the organs and meridians, and improves both blood and energy circulation. The stimulation is made effective with the pressure produced by the weight of the body when walking.
Learn MoreStep by step your day will improve...
Our advice is to use YolSandals whenever you can: as soon as you get up, leave the shower, while shaving... and a long etcetera. Wear them while you have breakfast, while you work around the house until you go to work... or to take the dog for a quick walk. In all this time, you have done something important for yourself and your well-being. They will become your favourite footwear around the house. If you can use YolSandals at work because you spend a long time sitting or standing then, wear them there too! If that is not possible, remember that they are waiting for you when you return home. They will provide a pleasant stimulation for your tired legs, those feet that have worn heels all day or have been in tight, narrow shoes... it's like ending the day with a walk, walking barefoot in nature!

Reflexology + Sculpture
Lina Rodríguez Conde was born in Orense. She has a PhD in Philosophy and Literature, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education. 1981 was her first encounter with Reflexology. To understand the reflex field, she studied MTC, and she decided to dedicate her time to the research and teaching of the technique, making significant contributions. Her deep humanity and her predisposition for therapy soon led her to integrate Zonal Reflexology within the framework of medicine. She has broad and rich therapeutic experience and has published several books, including "El lenguaje oculto de los pies" (1984) and "Donde el Mar se refleja" (2014).
Astrid Weissenborn was born in 1964 in Germany, where she trained as a sculptor and Waldorf teacher of Fine Arts. In 1992, when she moved to Spain with her young family, she received for the first time a Reflexology session, as a patient. She started exhibiting sculptures in 2000, alone and in groups. Her theme is mainly women, in many facets and materials; she later broadened her scope to include artisanal, pedagogical and therapeutic work of which she imparts workshops to date. Her artistic language tries to unite the beautiful with the practical: in her decorative painting of spaces, the utility of her garments, home decorations and unique pieces of handmade felt, as well as in YolSandals, which is a "sculpture for your feet".
Our journey towards creating the best reflexology sandal.
The project of YolSandals came into being fueled by the desire, shared by both Lina and Astrid, to bring the benefits of Zonal Reflexology to others. They wanted to create something that would stimulate the sole of the foot and that people could use without having to set aside any extra time. Lina would bring her well-founded knowledge and therapeutic expertise and Astrid, as an experienced sculptor, would create the effective form under Lina's guidance.
After two years of intense work to perfect the model, Lina can give YolSandals production the green light in 2015. In 2019 the new unisex model comes out: the profile of the reflexology innersole is the same, but now the sandal is slip on. With their creation of YolSandals they have achieved a product that is respectful with the environment, recyclable and 100% made in Spain. More colours and materials are planned for future models.
Frequently asked questions
No. Although they can be used in the garden, at the pool, for walking the dog... as long as the terrain is flat. The sandals have enough grip and support for normal use. Wearing them while you work around the house is an easy and simple way to increase your well-being.
No. They can be used by diabetics, pregnant women, people with hypertension, cancer treatments or other serious diseases since in each case the stimulation increases the self-regulation forces in the body and energy itself. In certain cases we recommend observing the reactions after each use and, if necessary, adjust the time of use.
No. For two reasons: 1) The stimulation produced by YolSandals is general, that is, in all areas equally (unlike a session with a therapist who works much more thoroughly and accurately related specific areas). 2) You should listen to the reaction of the body itself to regulate their use. When you feel it is no longer pleasant to continue, it is time to stop. Once you're used to them, you can use them for as long as you want.
Initially the inner sole may make it difficult to use the sandal easily. This sensation will diminish because it will smooth down with use. When worn with socks, tap the floor with the tip of the sandal for a perfect fit. You may need to loosen the straps. After a few days the straps will have adapted perfectly to your feet. Walking will now be easier, because the sole will also have become a little more flexible.
This may occur as many problems are chronic or traumatic and they need time. Continuity is very important, even in spite of initial discomfort. In these cases we recommend regulating the time of use and wearing them while seated.
The high quality, artificial rubber material of the inner sole is treated against any kind of fungus formation. Its uneven surface ensures constant air spaces between the sole of the foot and the inner soles. In this way the foot is never in full contact with the rubber. However, dirt gets easily trapped in the uneven inner sole and we would recommend cleaning with soap, water and a brush. Unbuckle the straps and after rinsing, place vertically to dry. NOT MACHINE WASHABLE. If machine washed, the guarantee will no longer be valid.
